College Mentoring

College is a big transition—new academic expectations, new independence, and often living away from home for the first time. About 25% of first-time college students drop out within their first year.

Our college mentoring program helps your freshman stay on track with consistent check-ins—having conversations about class attendance, meeting deadlines, seeking help when needed, and communicating confidently with professors. We help students find on campus resources and give support for an easier transition to college.

Success in college takes more than academics—it takes support, accountability, and real-life skills. That’s where Truevale comes in. We help students build independence, develop strong habits, and gain the skills they need to succeed in college and beyond.

Executive Function Tutoring

Executive function skills are what we rely on every day to stay organized, manage time, adapt to change, and follow through on tasks. When these skills don’t come naturally, it can feel overwhelming—like you can’t quite “get it together.” That’s where executive function coaching can help.

At Truevale, we work with students—especially those who are neurodivergent—to build practical systems for managing daily life with more clarity and control. With the right structure and support, things start to feel less chaotic and more manageable.

Students develop skills like creating effective routines, improving time management, building strong study habits, setting goals, and developing sustainable life habits.

We focus on strengthening the seven core areas of executive function:

  • Self-awareness
  • Inhibition (self-control)
  • Nonverbal working memory
  • Verbal working memory
  • Emotional regulation
  • Motivational regulation
  • Planning and problem-solving

The goal isn’t just short-term improvement—it’s helping students build skills they’ll use for life.

Life Skills Coaching

Navigating social situations can be challenging—especially for neurodivergent individuals operating in a largely neurotypical world. One thing we hear again and again is that practicing real-life scenarios ahead of time makes a meaningful difference in confidence and outcomes.

Our life skills coaching is highly personalized, giving each individual the chance to prepare for the situations that matter most to them. Examples of what clients often work on include:

  • Shopping for an event and understanding social expectations
  • Practicing dining etiquette and small talk for work or social settings
  • Communicating effectively with teachers, employers, or peers in formal settings
  • Engaging confidently in group or classroom environments
  • Building independence through everyday skills like meal planning and cooking

The focus is simple: build confidence through preparation, so real-life moments feel more manageable and successful.

Academic Tutoring

Academic Tutoring (Grades 4+)

Truevale offers personalized academic tutoring for students in grades 4 and up, designed to strengthen understanding, build confidence, and support long-term success in the classroom.

Each session is tailored to the student’s individual learning style and academic goals, with support available across core subjects including math, science, reading, and writing. Whether a student needs help catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead, sessions focus on clear instruction, skill-building, and practical strategies they can use independently.

In addition to subject-based tutoring, we offer academic paper support at any stage of the writing process. This includes:

  • Brainstorming and organizing ideas
  • Structuring essays and research papers
  • Proper citations and formatting (MLA, APA, etc.)
  • Proofreading and editing for clarity, grammar, and flow

Our goal is not just to complete assignments, but to help students become more confident, capable, and independent learners.
